Terms & Conditions

Accommodation rates apply at the time of booking.

  • Full amount payable in advance to confirm booking. It is essential that payment be made and acknowledged prior to guest’s arrival and/or check in.
  • Online credit card payment may be made online, OR
  • Bank transfer (EFT), with proof of payment (POP) communicated with our “bookings office” within 12 hours of reservation confirmation – info@desertjackal.com

We do not accept any cheques as payment.

Check-in time: 14h00 – 18h00 (Please advise the guesthouse of your approximate time of arrival)
Check-out time: Before 10h00
Where rooms are not vacated by 10h00, guests may be charged for an additional day. It is essential that late check outs are arranged directly with the Guesthouse Manager.
All extras (where applicable) are to be settled before checking out.

Smoking is only permitted in designated areas of the guesthouse and NOT in any of its rooms and the rest of the house. Guests wanting to smoke in their private courtyard directly outside their rooms are requested to ask the staff to provide you with an ashtray.

No animals (pets) permitted.

Desert Jackal Guesthouse is situated in a residential area. Please keep noise levels to a minimum. No noise after 22h00.

  • 0 – 3 years of age on date of arrival – FREE
  • 4 – under 12 years of age on date of arrival pay the applicable children’s rate – please inquire at info@desertjackal.com
  • A single Parent / Adult sharing with a maximum of 2 children is charged the Per Person Sharing Per Night rate.
  • TWIN Suites – A maximum of 2 adult guests.
  • Triple Suites – A maximum of 3 adult guests.
  • Family Suites – A maximum of 4 adult guests. We request that the above be adhered to and include children of all ages.
  • ALL GUESTS ENTER THE DESERT JACKAL GUESTHOUSE AT THEIR OWN RISK.
  • All vehicles parked at guest’s risk.
  • The Owners, Management and Staff of Desert Jackal Guesthouse, or any of its appointees will not be held liable, nor do they accept any responsibility for any loss, theft or damage done to any guest’s property.
  • Guests are requested to report any damage to the property or its content immediately upon arrival to Owners/ Management/Staff. Failure to do so may result in guests being held liable for any damage to the property or content thereof.
  • The Owners/Management’s/Staff’s private residence is off limits to any guest.
  • For the safety of all our guests, the following applies:
  • The front and side gates should be kept closed and locked.
  • Please ensure that your bedroom, sliding and private courtyard door is kept locked.
  • Unauthorized visitors are not allowed on the premises.
  • Only guests checked in and whose names appear in the guest register and on the guesthouse booking documents will be permitted on the Guesthouse premises.
  • The safety and wellbeing of our guests is paramount.
  • Breakfast is served between 07h00 and 10h00.
  • Requests for being served breakfast earlier must be arranged at time of check in or the day before.
  • A laundry service is available to guests. A garment rate sheet is available in your room. Unfortunately, laundry facilities are not available to guests.
  • Please refrain from disposing of cigarette butts, cotton buds, sanitary towels and any other objects other than toilet paper, in our toilets.
  • Guests will be billed for plumbing services to clear drains in the case of any (or all) of the above being disposed of by way of flushing down the toilet.
  • No show or cancellation on day of arrival: Forfeit 100% of full amount paid.
  • 1 – 7 days before arrival: Forfeit 100% of full amount paid.
  • 8 – 14 days before arrival: Forfeit 75% of full amount paid.
  • 15 – 21 days before arrival: Forfeit 50% of full amount paid.
  • 22 – 30 days before arrival: Forfeit 25% of the full amount paid.
  • More than 30 days before arrival: Full refund.
  • All refund applications are to be communicated in writing with our “bookings office”.
  • Should guests depart before the end of their booked stay, a NO REFUND policy applies.
  • A N$50.00 administration fee is payable and will be deducted from the refund amount.                       
  • Only cancellations communicated via e-mail will be accepted.
  • Insurance
    • We recommend that all guests be in possession of the following travel insurance:
      • possible cancellation,
      • medical expenses, including medical evacuation,
      • personal accident,
      • loss or theft of personal belongings
